Green Man Festival, the week-long indie, arts and science event, got the Murugiah treatment this year, with Many Hands turning to the TDF artist for the creation of its visual identity.
Blending Eastern and Western philosophy in everything from programmes to posters, Murugiah put his own inimitable spin on the titular ancient figure, known for symbolising the cycle of life, death and rebirth. “The inclusion of arms and feet, along with the yellow circle, is in reference to Eastern iconography’s Wheel of Life – mixed with the traditional folklore of the Green Man,” he says.
His first foray into festival branding, Murugiah’s dedication to delivering something “unique, new and different” has ensured the event’s distinct identity in the space.
